In addition to its finance and consultant services, DEG offers develoPPP.de, the Public-Private Partnership Programme (PPP) of the Federal German Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ). This programme unites private-sector commitment and developmental goals and mainly addresses German and other European enterprises, which can use the funds from the PPP Programme to realise projects with a developmental effect in developing and emerging-market countries.
DEG is your partner when it comes to structuring a PPP project and offers competent and comprehensive advice in all phases of its implementation. Since the launch of the PPP Programme in 1999, DEG has co-financed over 600 PPP projects all over the world.
PPP ideas competitions
Several times a year, DEG carries out PPP ideas competitions, in which interested companies can submit their project proposals, which are then assessed by DEG for their PPP eligibility.
In terms of content, these ideas competitions encompass two complementary aspects:
- Ideas competition "Topic: This category defines topics from major developmentally and economically relevant areas, which correspond to the focus areas of the German development policy. The current topics of DEG are "Resource and climate protection and "Energy.
- Ideas competition "Innovation: Within the scope of this category, trade and industry are invited to give their impetus - independent of the current focus topics of the PPP Programme. DEG thus allows for promising joint measures in areas which are not yet in the focus of the PPP agenda.
