Infrastructure
The foundation for continued growth in developing countries is a working infrastructure. However, urgently needed investments in infrastructure often exceed the scope of state finance. So more infrastructure subsectors are being privatized or part privatized. Private enterprises can for instance help to improve telecommunications or energy supply in our partner countries.
DEG provides equity capital, mezzanine finance and long-term loans to fund small and medium-scale private infrastructure projects. We do this especially in countries and projects where no finance is available from commercial banks. This is how we enable new and extension investments as well as modernization investments in private infrastructure projects in
